What are the main types of Calcium Carbonate?

Calcium Carbonate is mainly classified into two types:

  • Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC): Produced by mechanical grinding of natural limestone. It has irregular particle shapes and is widely used in plastics and construction materials.
  • Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC): Produced through chemical precipitation. It has controlled particle size, higher purity, and better brightness, commonly used in high-end applications such as paper coating, pharmaceuticals, and fine plastics.
